Keep it simple...

After a hectic morning of last minute rushing around, and dressing in almost complete costumes for the trip, we were all on the road north to Daytona...to find out that all of us had forgotten cameras, and Amilcar had forgotten his big stick. After a stop at the local Home Depot and a K-mart, we remedied the problems and continued to the con. Considering the heat, Jess and I switched over to our bathing suit costumes almost the minute we arrived. Shortly after we got there, the group decided it was time for lunch, so we set up the blankets and the picnic table. Plenty of other cosplayers joined us as we sat there, mostly asking what we were dressed as, etc. Rick was the most often questioned, strangely enough, because he was not even in costume, but we jokingly referred to him as 'security' and at some point during the day everyone began calling him the marlboro man. After lunch, we hung around the inside of the con a bit, not too much was going on save some viewings and the dealer's room, so we went out again to sunbathe. During our second stop outside, the photo shoot began and everyone started goofing around with eachother...it was also a prime time for great pics! After about 40 minutes of craziness and photo ops, we decided to take a few lasting memories of our own. The most notable pics were definitely the bikini-clad "Bud" girls, (under the cosplayer Advertisements section) "Marlboro man" pic, and the cleavage shot (the last two will be up as soon as I can get them developed) Shortly after this shoot, the group split in two, Cori and Amilcar staying for the viewings and stuff, and Rick, Jess, and I heading off into Daytona. We had a good time, and ran across a nice western-wear store, and the local classic car show (Which just so happened to have the "Akio car" style corvette in attendance) The only real complaint I had was when Jess was wtelling me to put something other than the bathing suit on ^_^ Hey, isn't it a beach town? So after the mall's car show (and some ice-cream) we returned to the con. After taking in some AMV's and meeting Marc, the beginning of the cosplay contest was announced. After a while, we got to watch some of the more bizarre anime skits I have seen, and performed a quick revamp od the Jacon D&D skit. We stuck around for the announcements and headed back home.
